By Garth Stein. Just finished my second read of it on my Kindle. What a great book.

One could argue it should be the official book of OppositeLock.

Lots about cars, as told by a dog who loves them.

I wish I felt like I had time to read. I've only read the first chapter.

At the risk of being that guy, I just didn't get all that excited about it....maybe all my gearhead friends just built it up to a level it could never hope to achieve. Just seems like an average story that car guys like because it has racing and car references and dog lovers like because of the narrator.

To make my point, imagine that the general plot of the ups and downs of life remains the same, but instead of a racing driver, Denny is a struggling accountant trying to get his Series 7 and a sweet gig at Goldman Sachs, and instead of Enzo telling the story, it's told by his mailman Carlos——it wouldn't make the bargain table at Big Lots.

You've a good point. Perhaps I should have said "What a great automobile enthusiast's book." Otherwise it might have become a cult classic among fans of accountants and accounting who also like their mailmen a lot.
